Presented by the local arts organization Love 4 Immigrants and guest curated by Salomé Cosmique, a Trauma Informed Teaching Artist and curator, born in Colombia and currently residing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, ARTivism: New Beginnings focuses on transforming ourselves and our communities through the power of art.  


For the spring exhibit at the MLK Library, Love 4 Immigrants will explore how creative expression can heal our pain and traumas, authentically convey cultural heritage and identities, and address pressing social and environmental issues. The exhibition features visual artworks in photography, painting, and mixed media by AnaYelsi Velasco Sanchez, Rama AlFarkh, and Wole Ajagbe.  
 

An opening reception will be held on Monday, March 24, from 5:30-8:30 pm featuring performances/screenings and a walkthrough the curator and artists. A closing performance and artist talk with Jessica Fairfax Hirst AKA Palmer Fishman will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
