Looking Back - Looking Forward: Sources of Artistic Inspiration
Exhibit Dates: June 12—September 1, 2025
Exhibit Location: MLK Library, Floor 1 (West)

Presented by the DC Public Library and Washington Sculptors Group
This exhibition honors the Washington Sculptors Group’s forty years in the D.C. arts community, while highlighting the role that DC Public Library plays as the archive for much of the District’s cultural history. Through an open call, WSG members have been invited to submit work made responding to materials in archival collections held by the Library, or to concepts embodied by the Library itself and its role as community gathering space. Jurors for the exhibition include: Linnea Hegarty, Director of Events, Exhibits and Development at the DC Public Library; Babette Pendleton, Program Manager for the Corcoran / National Gallery Partnership; and Dr. Michelle May-Curry, Curator, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and core faculty in Georgetown University’s Master’s program in Engaged and Public Humanities.
